Following law school, Shane worked for the U.S. Agency for International Development in Pakistan on antiterrorism and narcotics-related legal matters. He went on to work for a large New York-based law firm while also providing national security expertise to a public interest organization. Shane then worked for a national civil litigation firm in the District of Columbia, handling state and federal cases.
